Tips for Choosing the Right Car for Families

If you want to buy a car for the family, following these tips you should know:

1. Ensuring Safety (Safety First)

You will definitely bring your children to travel together, and do not forget the equipment they have, such as toys, bags, and so forth. So safety is always priority, although every car is equipped with safety standards that exist.

2. Test Drive or Safety Test

Do a test drive before buying a car, either a new car or second car, make sure everything is functioning properly, starting from the interior, engine, steering, and other car parts. It is better to ask about our safety test at a car dealership in question, whether already passed the safety test or not.

3. Safety air bags

The car with the air bag has started production since 1998 and usually there are air pockets in the front of the car. Although the air bag is working to save the passengers (according to the survey, air bag may reduce the risk of accidents by 30% in adults), but can also injure children.

4. Seat belt

Should install seatbelts in every seat, both front seats, middle and rear seats. Make sure that you plug the seat belt can be adjusted also for children’s sizes.

5. Anti-lock brakes

The brake system will generally lock / brakes on a slippery road and can cause car slipped. Today, however, can be equipped with ABS system (Anti-lock Braking System), which can be locked when the car skidded and the car remains in a state controlled.

6. Safety Door and Window Locks

Make sure the car is equipped with Safety Door and Window Locks so you can ensure children are always safe in the car at all times.

Properly and Correctly Technique to Brakes on the Vehicle

When to stop the vehicle speed, whether in the slow or sudden brake condition is a device that can reduce vehicle speed, as well as brake clutch is of the absolute use when braking.

The function of the clutch in while braking is to prevent the death of a car engine rotation. Because if the rotation torque of the engine is under the recommended minimum of a vehicle which is usually the engine will die. So, that’s why every braking clutch pedal must be pressed / stamped. However, our question is where is the first step on the clutch or brake?

The answer is, it could first clutch or brake first. Because if the clutch is not trampled on first when braking in the rate of the less tight the engine will die, therefore the coupling must be stepped on first to keep from the vehicle engine off because the rate has slowed but has not stepped on the clutch. However, for the vehicle speed is fast, the emphasis on the first brake pedal is also allowed because the engine will not die if the engine speed is high, and then coupled with the clutch or direct drive with no clutch pedal again.

Thus, use of the clutch or brake is stepped on is first adjusted to the pace and purpose of braking the vehicle itself. However, the important thing is to reduce vehicle speed by reducing the emphasis on the gas pedal or release the gas pedal is highly recommended. This needs to be trained to determine the time the vehicle will stop after the accelerator is released. By reducing the use of brakes, the car we do not waste energy in vain and will certainly save more fuel usage.

Overcoming Adhesions on Brakes Drum

Adhesions between the canvas with drum brakes often occurs when the vehicle runs out through a puddle of water that makes the brake drum submerged causing adhesions in the brake drum when the state was dry.

It can be characterized by not turning one wheel or playing hard and the car cannot be executed because the wheels are locked (lock drum brakes). Here is a step or a way to overcome the stickiness of the brake drum.

The ways to solve a sticky drum brakes or locks are:

  1. Force the playback of a sudden the wheels so that adhesions can be separated by way of emphasis on the gas pedal, roughly the torque is at 1,500 rpm (rotation per minute), then off the clutch pedal abruptly. If adhesions are less strong, the wheels can spin again.
  2. If the above has not been able to help, then we must do it manually release the brake drum to a sticky, i.e. by releasing the brake drum, then clean the canvas and the drum and put it back.
